Boutique ushers in new era of charity shopping

Oxfam has launched its first "gentleman's outfitters" designer boutique in London's Mayfair in a bid to shrug off the devastating effects of discount clothes retailing on the charity shop market.

The menswear venture, which boasts labels including Diesel and Versace, took in more than £3,000 on Saturday's launch day alone.
