Children in Need appoints Northern Ireland director

Paddy Sloan has been appointed national head for BBC Children in Need in Northern Ireland. She replaces Sheila Jane Malley, who has been promoted to Children in Need's director of grants and policy.

Sloan has been chief executive of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission since 1999. She has also worked for the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland and for the Department of Environment, promoting economic and social regeneration in West Belfast.
